Educational Qualifications and Experience:

Candidates interested in this position must meet the following academic and professional requirements:

Hold a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field.

Have between one and five years of relevant professional experience in photovoltaic (PV) system design.

Possess practical knowledge of PV system design principles and the engineering tasks associated with developing solar energy projects.

Demonstrate an understanding of the technical requirements involved in selecting and sizing the main components of a photovoltaic system.

Applicants should ensure that their academic background and previous design experience are relevant to the responsibilities of the position.

Key Responsibilities:

The PV Design Engineers will contribute to the technical preparation and design of solar energy projects, working in coordination with senior engineers and other members of the engineering team. Their main responsibilities will include:

1. PV System Drawings and Design Documentation:

Prepare engineering drawings for photovoltaic projects, including PV system layouts and single-line diagrams.

Develop the design documentation required to communicate the proposed system configuration and electrical connections.

Support the preparation of technical design materials needed for PV project development.

2. Component Selection and System Sizing:

Calculate the appropriate sizes and specifications of photovoltaic system components.

Select suitable solar panels, inverters, and cables according to the technical requirements of the system being designed.

Apply practical knowledge of PV system design when determining component requirements and preparing engineering solutions.

3. Technical Proposals and Bills of Quantities:

Prepare technical proposals for photovoltaic projects.

Develop detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for the required project components and materials.

Ensure that the technical documentation and quantity schedules are prepared as part of the project design process.

4. Engineering Team Collaboration:

Work closely with senior engineers throughout the PV system design process.

Coordinate with other engineering team members to support project design and implementation.

Contribute to the team’s technical work while developing practical knowledge and strengthening professional design skills.

Required Technical Skills:

Candidates should have the technical capabilities necessary to prepare photovoltaic system designs and complete the associated engineering documentation. The company is looking for applicants with the following skills:

Design Software Proficiency:

AutoCAD: Good working knowledge for preparing and working with engineering drawings.

PVsyst: Good working knowledge of software used in photovoltaic system design.

SketchUp: Good working knowledge of the software for design-related tasks.

Experience with other software tools used for similar engineering and design applications will be considered an advantage.

PV Engineering Knowledge:

Practical understanding of solar photovoltaic system design.

Ability to size and select key PV system components, including solar panels, inverters, and cables.

Familiarity with preparing system layouts, single-line diagrams, technical proposals, and detailed Bills of Quantities.

Professional and Teamwork Skills:

Ability to collaborate effectively with senior engineers and other members of the engineering team.

Willingness and ability to learn quickly and develop technical knowledge through practical work.

A cooperative approach to completing design tasks and supporting the wider project team.
