Core Planning Senior Engineer

Job Description

Zain Iraq is recruiting Core Planning Senior Engineer who is responsible for monitoring network delivery to ensure managed services providers are performing as per agreements. They also report on faults and problems and implement corrective action

  • Assist in radio network planning (2G and 3G) including resource planning
  • Implement the Transport (voice and data) in line with the Technology Strategy
  • Assist in the development of core (Voice and Data) network design in line with the Technology Strategy
  • Assist in monitoring IN traffic and forecasts and in the development of capacity plans for platforms
  • Assist in the development of roll-out/decommissioning plans for all IN products
  • Assist in the coordination with the managed services provider for network optimization and efficiency in order to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with project delivery team to ensure that projects and programs plans are built up in a realistic manner that considers all internal and external dependencies to the Core Network, and that uses realistic but aggressive delivery timelines.
  • Development of the future network (design/add, change and/or increase the networks services and resources for capacity, features and functionality), act as a point of technical accountability, work with functional stakeholders to ensure that the right responsibility levels are established.
  • Responsible for the day to day activities of the Core planning team, development and inter-working perspective while assisting in driving program agility, efficiency and excellence. Aligned to the commercial goals of the business and drive our values in day to day technical and operational decision making.
  • Assist in the development of Third Parties’ ‘Requests for Proposals’ including technical specifications in line with Radio/Core/Charging and Transmission network requirements
  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates whilst ensuring cost efficiency and adhering to Department budget
